The Fuel for the Tools: How Athleticism Translates on a Baseball Field – Part 1: Hitting
This is the first installment of a two-part blog. In this blog, Loden Sports explores the relationship between the Junior Loden Score System, bat speed, and exit velocity in athletes aged 8-14. This project was completed in collaboration with Slammers Baseball in Colorado – a special thank you to them for their willingness to share and excitement to learn alongside us.

The Junior Loden Score System
The Junior Loden Score System has been created as a way to benchmark and track athletic development in athletes before they hit their growth spurt. It is structured similarly to the existing Loden Score System with a Power, Quickness, Speed, and Loden Score.

Objective Performance Benchmarks
A look at age-averages for athletic assessment metrics. The data used for this blog was collected by Loden Sports during the 2021 calendar year.

Why Measuring Matters
This month, Loden Sports takes a look at why measuring matters – a key pillar to the upcoming Loden Sports LTAD. Best practices and recommendations for measuring (depending on where the athlete is in their development) are discussed in detail.
